Outstanding! I tried the Korean BBQ sandwich and it was amazing. I've never had anything like it. The bubble milk tea is so unique but delicious as well. I highly recommend it!

3 and a half stars. Stopped here for lunch when we were driving by Indiana. Its a nice, clean, bright place. We ordered the chicken banh mi and the veggie banh mi. They were good - nothing too great. The bread was soft as expected, but they were not enough veg toppings in the sandwich. It said that there would be pickled radish - there was none on my chicken banh mi. Also, the chicken tasted sweet. The menu said the veggie banh mi came with avocado on top - but there was no avocado in the sandwich.

We stopped at this little hidden gem on a long drive. The warm, clean, and colorful interior was hidden by the strip mall store front. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered an egg roll which was crispy and delicious. I also got beef pho (noodle soup) that was a special that day. The broth was super flavorful and full of tasty pieces of steak and beef meatballs. My friend got vegetarian noodles which were just enough but the flavors left her wanting more! Down home Hanoi cooking!

The Vegetable Spring rolls were really good, especially with some shiracha! The Veggie Noodle bowl was tasty and refreshing. The service was fast and the employees were very polite. Definitely going back soon!

I haven't tried anything but the spicy Viet Special, because it's so good I haven't felt the need to...but I have it on good authority their pho is great as well. The service is always helpful and friendly as well.

We wanted to try Vietnamese food and based on reviews, this was the place to go. I had my heart set on trying Pho so I picked takeout on Sunday because they do not offer Pho everyday. The place is fairly small and parking is limited. The decor is basic but serves its purpose. The menu is above the cash register, like you'd find at a typical "Chinese takeout" place. They don't have many items on the menu, so that makes it easier to choose. I asked for 4 orders of Pho (they only had a steak/meatball combo & I was hoping for chicken) & 2 boba teas, avocado & lavender, to go. This came up to just over $40. I paid and waited about 15 minutes for them to cook & package my items. Before I get into the quality and taste of the food, I need to talk about the service. This was by far the best service I have ever received in a takeout situation. The young lady behind the counter was sweet and helpful with any questions. The cook was busy preparing the food but at any available moment, he took water out to the diners and helped at register. Then lastly, they had packed up all my food in a box for me and another sweet young man from the back insisted on carrying it out and putting it in my car for me. EXCELLENT!! As far as the food, it was okay. We liked the soups but weren't really impressed by the meat. The meatballs were extremely chewy and rubbery, we couldn't get past the texture. I suggest asking them to omit the meatballs, if that's the soup they have to offer that day. The portion sizes were decent. The teas were really quite good and I would recommend both flavors. Would I go back? Yes, because of the amazing service, I would go try a sandwich and another tea next time!! ;)

The egg rolls are excellent! They are crispy and delicious. I also recommend the Korean BBQ :) I have never been disappointed dining here so if you are looking for good, local Vietnamese food, this is a great lunch destination.

How do you know an ethnic restaurant is good or not? You will see people of that ethnicity there eating that food. This litmus test has never failed me: the best Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc...it has never failed. That said, I had a chance to eat at this restaurant with my girlfriend (at her suggestion) and--sure enough--there were several Vietnamese people eating there. I knew I was in luck then and there. We ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls as an appetizer. These were very good: the greens inside were fresh, crisp, and yummy; the shrimp were tasty and taut--still fresh. The peanut sauce served with them was good. Of course, I added Sriracha sauce for some heat. I recommend these if you are into spring rolls. I have always enjoyed these cool, appetizing, rice-paper-enveloped treats when they are fresh and are served with a succulent sauce. My only complaint would be that when the rolls were served, they were on a Styrofoam plate covered in plastic wrap and when I went to open the wrap, the rice paper on one of my rolls ripped because it was affixed to the wrapping. Oh well. For dinner (photos provided), we ordered Pho Beef. This was unique because Pho Beef is generally served in a broth, with a bed a noodles, various spices and flavor helpers (typically an Asian basil, cilantro, other greens, lime slices, etc.) and shredded beef. This one, however, had shredded beef and some meatballs rather than just the beef. The meatballs were good and they tasted just as good as the meat itself. The broth was hearty and flavorful: truly it didn't really need any additions. The noodles were fully cooked and easily folded onto the fork (or chop sticks). The beef was flavorful. Yet, I am always a fan of adding some things to my Pho (regardless of whether it is beef or other ingredients). Therefore, I added some sriracha and some hoisin sauce periodically to my noodles as I saw fit. Overall, the Pho was very good. For dessert, we ordered bubble tea (pictures provided). This was really interesting, flavorful, and texturally unique. They have many flavors to choose from for this and I enjoyed my basic Thai Tea flavoring but what I found interesting and fun was the texture. When you sip one of these through the straw, you'll get some of the frozen parts and then periodically, you get surprised by the little balls or "bubbles" of tapioca. It's kind of fun to drink one of these because of it. I recommend getting one if you visit this restaurant. Lastly, I would give this place a rating of 3.5 stars but yelp forces you to pick whole numbers. It's a cool restaurant and if you find yourself on the north side of town near Coldwater road, this is a reasonable place to go.

I'm new to Vietnamese food, but I'll come back here. I had the vegetarian noodle bowl with tofu, which was pretty good, probably very healthy. It didn't leave a big impression on me. But when I return, I will do one of the Bahn Mi sandwiches - my dining companion had the Korean beef one and it looked so good- fresh jalapeños and other veggies on it made me question my choice. We both had a Vietnamese coffee, which was so tasty. It really just tasted like strong chocolate milk. Really it's espresso and sweetened condensed milk.

These people care about their business. They are polite, responsive and intentional. This staff means to do good work. I was immediately greeted and asked if there were questions about the menu; probably because I am old(er) and Caucasian. Hey, I'd ask to help me too. I appreciated the LED/LCD monitors for the menus. I like looking up, not down. I ordered the Beef Pho, with shaved sirloin and meatballs. The bean sprouts, quartered lime, parsley and tarragon were fresh. I shudder whenever customers leave the broth behind. The broth is the life extending elixir that makes pho the magic that it is. I always upend the broth bowl and make a scene. I make sure I get every last morsel and drop. Then I wrestle with getting a second bowl. I wait a few minutes for satisfaction to settle in, but it's always a close one. Bahn Mi Barista is clean, neat, well run. They have seating outside for about 14-ish. Plenty of inside seating. Go try this place. By the way 4 out of 5 is as high as I go. Heck, I don't think Nadia Comaneci deserved a 10. Perfection is a journey without end. I really enjoyed Bahn Mi Barista. When I come back to Fort Wayne for business, I will spend money at here again.

Love this little place. The boys love it, too. G&D are trying Vietnamese food for the first time. They really like it.

I like this place. The food is hot, fresh and true to its heritage.. Pho is a rather complex item to prepare and they do a good job of it. I tend to stick with the chicken variety (I get stuck on a good meal and tend to stick with it when I return). Bubble Teas... oh yes, the avocado with tapioca pearls rocks..

Great Pho!!! This was such a great experience. The food was awesome, great service, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Even for first-time Phone eaters. They have a great variety of Flavored and Milk Teas. Be brave and get something you never had before. I loved it

This place just makes me happy! It's so different from most dining options in Fort Wayne. I'll be honest, I'm hooked on the Beef Noodle Bowl and I never try anything else! I pair it with a phenomenal Iced Vietnamese Coffee and it is lunch perfected. The bowl is so fresh and light. Light rice noodles with tender, flavorful beef and topped with fresh veggies and a sweet sauce that is just to die for! It is a small location, but their menu is extensive for drinks with Boba or non-boba drinks and smoothies. And sandwiches, noodle bowls and a Friday Pho special. I'm so addicted that when I come back from Texas I HAVE to stop in for lunch at least once! Yum! If you have been considering giving them a try, just go!

Wonderful service. We were driving through and Yelped this place and saw the great reviews. We were going to be at the restaurant 10 minutes before closing so we ask if we could order ahead and pick it up. They obliged and we couldn't be happier. Thank Banh Mi Barista!

This time I tried the summer rolls and the avocado tea. The pork and shrimp roll tasted very fresh unlike some places where they taste like they were made in the morning and refrigerated all day. The avocado tea was great. It sounds weird but tastes really good.

High-quality, clean and nice, very good sandwiches. I was looking for something light and fresh for a lunch, and found this place through yelp. The impression as you walk in is that it is clean and simple. The counter help was attentive and gave me good advice. I got the Vietnamese special sandwich and asked for it spicy. They added some hot pickles, which weren't truly really hot, just added good flavor. I also tried Vietnamese spring rolls, and I could've eaten a dozen of them. They were fresh and light, full of nice flavors and with a wonderful peanut dipping sauce. I'll come back and try more things from the menu. The Korean barbecue sandwich looks really interesting.

We went here a few days ago....ordered several things...First off the Spring rolls and the egg rolls...The egg rolls were overcooked and dark....The Spring rolls had LOTS of lettuce 3 pieces of shrimp and a very, very thin slice of pork (I believe it was ham)nothing else...no cilantro no mint no vermicelli noodles...and some dipping sauce...Had better at another Vietnamese restaraunt...(both) The Bahn Mi...I had chicken ..it was spicy like I asked the veggies fresh and crisp..BUT the bread was scorched on top and was hard and crumbly...The beef for Husband was the same..good meat and veggies...hard and crumbly bread...No the best ..had better at another Vietnamese Restaurant.... The Bubble teas..I had avocado..VERY good...Husband had chocolate not bad but just okay..Had better NOW we had the Beef Noodle bowls...DEEElisious !!! I would go there just for that....The young man gave me some hot spices to put in mine ..It REALLY was great.....The service was good.Friendly staff..clean.. We will try again to see if the other items are better next time...Maybe I will say something to them on my next visit....They weren't busy ...No Pho that day...I hope they will when we try again.....I hope it is good as some of the reviews say....

Fantastic service and the food is amazing my only suggestion would be to increase the amount of herbs you get as a side with the pho. Other pho places in town as well as In Other cities are quite generous offering a full plate of thai basil sprouts limes mint and jalapeños. Here you get a tiny piece of lime and a few sprigs of greens.

Just tried for the first time and loved the Chicken Pho. Great broth! Had it to go, cashier was very nice and friendly. Clean! I've tried about all of the the Vietnamese, Burmese, and Thai restaurants in town and I would recommend this soup above all of the other restaurants. Per the other comment I visited on a Tuesday 11AM and they were serving the Pho.

I'm very excited that they have added more pho days because their regular and chicken pho is delicious! Whenever I go on a day they don't sell pho or they're out, I usually order the pork or beef vermicelli rice noodle bowl which is also amazing. I'd definitely recommend food enthusiasts to come and try this place out!

Best pho in town. I go often for pho on Fridays and it is outstanding. Very friendly service. Have had lots of different bubble teas that are also pretty good. But definitely get the pho.

I was expecting coffee house with Vietnamese-inspired sandwiches, but instead it's really more of a small Vietnamese restaurant with lots of bubble tea and a few coffee choices. Still, this is a cool addition to Fort Wayne and perhaps my expectations were just off. We mostly wanted a quick coffee/drink here before going down the road for dinner, and so I got an iced Vietnamese coffee and my mom got a pineapple smoothie with popping boba. My coffee was smooth, very sweet, delicious and perhaps had a little more ice than I would have liked. My mom's smoothie was actually not quite as sweet as my coffee, a big portion and brain-freezingly cold. The popping boba were kind of fun, like a little grape minus any "flesh". The menu has lots of sandwiches (banh mi), lots of tea, a few spring rolls, pho on Sundays and just a couple coffee options. The staff was very friendly and seemed eager to answer questions. This is a fun stop when you're having an Asian inspiration.

Amazing food and friendly service! Upon entering we were welcomed by a very outgoing and friendly individual who made sure we were well taken care of. In addition, when asked... She was able to provide some helpful menu recommendations. I opted for a vegetarian sandwich and some vegetable spring rolls and was extremely impressed with the flavor and taste of both items. Very fresh and tasty! The bread of the sandwich was nicely toasted and helped to give a little crunch to the delicious morsel! The spring rolls were packed full of carrots, avocado, lettuce, came with a peanut sauce of some sort. The peanut sauce was good but slightly a bit too salty for my taste. My wife enjoyed the chicken noodle bowl and we were both amazed with how large the dish was! She ended up taking more than half of the dish home. Definitely a great value for the mere cost of somewhere close to seven dollars. We will definitely return to try the many menu options and interesting drink offerings this location has to offer. It is sad it has taken us this long to discover this restaurant and the awesome service and food!

After seeing dozens of Facebook posts about the food here, I visited for a late lunch. The place was empty which was perfect, I was told I missed a huge lunch crowd. I ordered the noodle bowl with chicken. And a vegetarian egg roll. The noodle bowl was good, they give you some sort of broth/sauce to dump in the bowl and then you mix it together and chow down. The egg roll was really good too. I'll be back to try a sandwich and the Pho which is supposedly the best Pho in Fort Wayne, but only available on Sunday. Just leave your empty plates on the table, they will pick them up after you leave. Oh and the staff is very friendly!

I'm in Ft. Wayne from Los Angeles. The NHL playoffs are on TV and I'm hungry for something I can bring back to the hotel room. Banh Mi, of course! But this is Ft. Wayne, IN, not exactly Little Saigon. But wait! Banh Mi Barista to the rescue! I have the Korean BBQ Banh Mi with more Sriracha sauce than the guy behind the counter ever saw before, but my taste buds have been seared by some of the finest. Besides, Sriracha is made close to where I live, so I have to support the homies. Back to the sandwich. Excellent! The bread got a bit overtoasted due to my distracting conversation with the gal behind the counter, but the ingredients were flavorful, fresh, crunchy, meaty, spicy, sweet, savory - everything you want in a Banh Mi sandwich. I decided to come back on Friday for the pho. Pho is served only on Fridays and Saturdays. I brought a Laotian friend with me for authenticity. Pho is about the broth. This broth could stand up to the best of Little Saigon in the LA area. Rich, shimmery, a hint of cinnamon and star anise and lots of beef bones. On point in every way. I surmise that the nice little old Vietnamese lady in the back is responsible. There is deep wisdom in this broth. Unfortunately, no tripe or tendon, only thin sliced fillet and Vietnamese beef balls are offered, but the meat was tender and the portions generous. If I lived in Ft. Wayne, this would be a weekly addiction. The Friday lunch crowd seemed to agree, as did my Laotian friend.

I absolutely love this place. The food is fantastic and the Boba Teas are wonderful. The staff is super friendly. Make sure you ask about the un-posted special of the day. Apparently it's only for people in the know...so, now your in the know. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. I can't swear that this is the most "authentic" Banh mi, but it sure is a delicious sandwich regardless. Oh and the Pho is fantastic on the weekends. Try everything at least once, you won't be disappointed.

This is a must try dining adventure! The food choices are pretty basic and healthy. The portions won't overwhelm you. However, the food tasted great! The bubble tea is a definite must!!! What an experience...and it's fun for teenagers!! Price pretty reasonable but closes at 8pm most nights. Worth a try!!

What a surprising find in Ft. Wayne! It is located in a small strip (same as TT's Nails), across the street from Steak n Shake. Had a smoothie and a grilled pork rice noodle bowl (basically traditional "bun"). Will definitely come here again! Extremely friendly service. You order at the counter and seat yourself in this cheerful cafe.

I arrived in Fort Wayne for the first time a few hours ago and after scrambling to wrap up some work, I needed to find somewhere near my hotel for a quick dinner. Lucky for me, the highest Yelp-ranked restaurant within walking distance happened to be Banh Mi Barista and I'm a sucker for Banh Mi, Pho and bubble tea. I walked in and couldn't even get to the ordering counter without being greeted enthusiastically by all for of the restaurant staff that were on hand. They asked me how I was doing and genuinely were interested in the answer. I had a very nice conversation with the folks at the counter while ordering and it carried over while I waited for them to make my order fresh, on the spot. I had spring rolls, Viet Special Banh Mi and bubble tea. Ever bit of it was fantastic and I probably would have ordered again if they hadn't been closing up the shop for the night. I may very well go back again tomorrow or the next night, before I leave Fort Wayne. Oh, and after returning to my hotel room, it dawned on my how reasonable my dinner was. $12.15 for the whole meal. A really special place!

Didn't really expect to make a trip here, but one of my faviorite places in the area was unexpectedly closed. I'm familiar with Vietnamese-inspired menu so I ordered basics: 2 Bubble Teas w/ tapioca, Korean BBQ and Chicken Sandwhiches and Shrimp/Pork Springrolls. Ordered to go, which didn't take long but had a great conversation with another patron who was boasting about the place, which is always a good sign. Food was great, the Korean BBQ was my favorite, and bubble tea was good (on the super sweet side, but I still finished it down to the last bubble). Next time I will order the Pho, which I was told is coming soon.

I just moved to Fort Wayne from Chicago and have been searching for some cuisine variety. I am very glad to have found Banh Mi Barista. The banh mi are delicious...I had the chicken and the Korean BBQ. Add jalepnos for some extra spice. The bread is a tad thicker than I'm used to for banh mi but still very good. I do wish they had more authentic options like head cheese but I wonder if these would go over well in Indiana...oh well, I'm pretty happy to have found a place that serves banh mi AND boba! They also serve pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) on Sundays...definitely looking forward to that once the weather turns cold! They also serve some other Vietnamese dishes (on rotation I believe)...they looked pretty decent as well and I'm excited to try them at my next visit.

I'm from California so I guess this will be as good as it will ever get in Indiana .. I would give 4 stars but the texture of my boba leads me to believe that it isn't fresh cause its not nice and chewy like it should be :(

I moved to Fort Wayne from California and tried out this place... The staff members at this place are amazing and welcoming. The food is as good as it gets here at Fort Wayne. I must add that their rice noodle dishes and Vietnamese sandwiches are amazing. I was scared Fort Wayne didn't have any Vietnamese restaurant to fix my cravings... This place proved me wrong! Amazing! Must try!

This place is great. We have had several different dishes here and all were very good. The noodle bowl with chicken was different from anything I have tried in the past. I was hesitant at first as it was a cold dish, but it was great. Very light and refreshing. The Pho was good, but not the best in the city at least by my tastes. The broth was great, but it would be nice to have a wider variety than just beef. The Korean BBQ sandwich is my favorite by far. The only way I could see it being better is with a different kind of bun than a hoagie type roll. My favorite thing about Banh is the bubble tea. There are not enough bubble tea places in the Fort. The staff is very helpful in explaining the different types of bubbles. They also will make them with any modifications asked for. The blueberry smoothie with strawberry filled bubbles are my sons favorite. They are like gushers he says. The staff is always amazing. Very friendly and helpful. More than willing to answer all questions with knowledge of the menu and ingredients.

I'd never had banh mi until I ate here, and now I'd eat them every day if I could. The service is incredible. The ingredients are fresh. The price is very reasonable. My only complaint is that they haven't started serving thit nuong with rice yet. Hurry up already! ;) Seriously, though, go here.

I was told by friends and family that this place is awesome. They were right! I tried the chicken noodle bowl and the fried dumplings. It was a ton of delicious food for cheap! The staff was super friendly, and when I left, I was full and had leftovers! I will definitely be back to try the sandwiches!

I have never had Vietnamese food before, came here, ordered a blueberry smoothie with mango balls or whatever they are called, boba or something, and the rice noodle special with chicken. MAN WAS IT GOOD. I'm going back tomorrow it was so good. The staff is very friendly to those who don't know what they are ordering, the smoothie was fantastic, the little balls at the bottom were like mango fruit gushers. The rice noodle special was also fantastic, fresh and very tasty, I could eat it every day.
